portland oregon backyard forest wedding

When it comes to hosting a wedding in your parents' backyard, less is definitely more. Get all your favorite people together, turn the fall colors up to eleven, don a fantastic blue dress, keep your favorite pup around and joyfully roll with it all. Oh, and it's not a bad idea to make sure the sunlight dapples through the trees.

For more dappled, backyard weddings, check out this open farm property in The Dalles, this West Linn manor wedding, or even a FRONT YARD wedding here.

What could be better than a backyard wedding? How about a FRONT yard wedding? These two kept it simple and sweet, getting married with their friends, neighbors, and cat, while their families looked on via Zoom. Yummy cake, sidewalk portraits, and good drinks.

I’ve photographed quite a few Indian wedding ceremonies with hundreds of family and guests, but this year, while keeping their friends and loved ones safety in mind, this lovely couple decided to make it small while preserving the beautiful traditions. It was so unique, especially considering traditional Indian ceremony standards! A few downpours and a pandemic couldn’t keep their love apart. Planning by Black Swan Events, DJ was Prasant, Florals by Royce’s Prop Shop.

As an update, this wedding was featured in Oregon Bride’s November Summer print edition and online here.

portland family backyard firehouse wedding

Sometimes the smallest celebrations are the most meaningful. These two remembered their connection from long ago, and when life happened, separating them by time and distance, love eventually brought them back together. Surrounded by their children, friends and family and after a LOT of special care to their backyard (they have such a cool house), these two honored each other and the magic that reconnected them. Firehouse gladly hosted their dinner with piles of delicious pizza and meatballs. I was so honored to be there in the middle of so much joy.
